Please note: The illustrations below are screen captures that show you what you'll see as you download the installation file with your web browser and then perform the installation. Don't click on the images on this web page and expect anything to happen! However, if your browser supports tabs, you can make a new tab to go to the IrfanView website. Then you can click back and forth on the tabs from this screen to the screen where you're actually doing the download. Also, the browser used in this demonstration is Internet Explorer v.6. If you use a different browser, or a different edition of the same browser, the header will be different and some of the download screens will be different. To begin downloading IrfanView, in your web browser go to. The home page appears below. Click on the Download link on the left side of the screen, highlighted below in red. This is the next window you will see. Click on the 'TUCOWS' download option at the top as shown. The other options might work just as well. Your browser takes you to the Tucows website, and the next window appears below. Click on the blue 'Download Now' button as shown. The next screen (in Internet Explorer) is shown below. Select the option to Save the file. If you are using Firefox, this is the way the screen will appear. Other browsers may be still different, but in every case there should be an option to save the file. After you choose to save, the window below then appears. Here you choose a location on your computer to which to save the file. You may save it to your desktop (as shown here), where it will be easy to find after the download, or you may save it to any folder of your choosing. But you must know where it was saved and be able to navigate to the location after the download. (You can delete the installation file once the program is installed). Once you've selected your location, click the 'Save' button at the bottom of the window. After you click 'Save,' in Internet Explorer the download window appears below, showing the progress of the download. You will not see this window in Firefox -- I don't know about other browsers.
